We despised one another, we even killed one another. Then we ignored one another, developing our faith understandings and practices apart from one another. All in the name of Jesus, the embodiment of God’s love and mercy...Slowly we began to realize that Jesus’ command to love and extend mercy applied to other Christians. We began to recognize that Christ’s guiding presence resides in each of our traditions, each according to one’s particular charisms and perspectives. That was a monumental realization, made possible by the rich ecumenical encounters, dialogues and agreements of the past 50 years, all the way from the people in our pews to Popes, Patriarchs and global Archbishops. It’s time to mark this great turning point in ways that open up new avenues towards full visible Christian Unity for our common future in Christ. Join us for five sessions to learn about how far we have come and to celebrate this moment together."
