Upon This Rock

The latest fundraising campaign for the restoration of St. Peter's Cathedral is called "Upon This rock" - echoing the German phrase that encircles the dome at the front of the church: You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church.

A permanent Plexiglas structure at the back of the church represents the likeness of the cathedral sitting upon a large rock. Etched into the rock will be the names of people who have contributed to the interior restoration of the cathedral.

Bronze sponsorship is $250, silver sponsorship is $500 and the gold sponsorship represents $1000. Sponsorship of $2500 or more will be recognized in the Platinum category. Donations to this campaign can be made with the envelopes located at the back of the church and dropped into the collection plate. Donations can also be given to any member of the fundraising committee - Glenda Rueve, Teresa Wassermann or Chirsty Waldner or mailed to St. Peter's Parish Box 10 Muenster, SK  S0K 2Y0. Tax receipts will be issued for donations over $50.

Once the repair work and painting is complete for the middle section of the church, the north and south sacristies need to be refurbished and the condition of the original hardwood floor will be investigated for the possibility of restoring as well.
